LISA MURPHY

Owner / Partner

Lisa Murphy is an Owner/Partner and provides design layout, tiling, carpentry/framing, permit coordination and subcontractor coordination for Murphy Properties projects. She worked for five years for a commercial construction company and handled all collections and assisted with the accounts payable phases of the company. Previously she worked for 16 years in the Human Resources Department of the NASD.   


Lisa has lived in Frederick for the past 29 years with her husband and two sons.  She has volunteered throughout the years with Frederick County Public Schools, her church, and with various sports teams that her sons were involved in.  


Lisa has also been involved in the following:

  • Member of the Board of Directors for the historic St. John’s Cemetery in Frederick

  • Past-Board Member of the East Frederick Little League

SUE MURPHY

Owner / Partner

Sue Murphy is an Owner/Partner and provides design layout, carpentry/framing, tiling/flooring, cabinet installation, bookkeeping, contract negotiations, permit coordination and record maintenance for all Murphy Properties projects.  She worked for 15 years for a commercial construction company and has handled all phases of accounting from payroll to taxes to job profit and loss.  Previously she was a Realtor in Frederick for 8 years, and as has continued to maintain interest and awareness of the local real estate market.  She is a graduate of a two-year construction program.

Sue has an A.A. from Frederick Community College, and has lived, worked and raised a family in Frederick for the past 36 years.  Throughout that entire time, she has volunteered in many capacities - from the local public schools, to her church, to coaching various sports, to her current endeavors which include:

  • Vice President of the Board of Directors for the historic St. John’s Cemetery in Frederick

  • Member of the Historical Society of Frederick County

DOUG MURPHY

Owner / Partner

Doug Murphy is an Owner/Partner and provides design layout, framing, painting, budgeting and project support for all Murphy Properties projects.  He worked at Bank of America for 30 years, including 15 years as a Senior Manager in the Business Banking department and held various other sales and credit/underwriting positions in his time with that bank. Has worked at Woodsboro Bank for the past 10 years – currently as Commercial Credit Manager. 

Doug obtained his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.  Also completed a two year construction program at FCC and is a Graduate of Leadership Frederick County.  Doug has lived in Frederick for the past 29 years with his wife Lisa.  They have two sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law and two beautiful grandchildren.  Doug has held positions with various non-profit organizations including the following:

  • Member-Rotary Club of Carroll Creek (19 years); Past Club Secretary

  • Member of the Board of Directors for the historic St. John's Cemetery in Frederick

  • Member of the Scholarship Committee with the Community Foundation of Frederick County (12+ years)

  • Past Treasurer/Board Member-The Weinberg Center for the Arts

  • Past Treasurer/Board Member-St. Luke's House, Inc. (Rockville, MD)

  • Past Board Member/Treasurer-Montgomery County Community Partnership

  • Past Board Member/Coach-East Frederick Little League

  • Past Treasurer/Board Member-Gov. Thomas Johnson High School Sports Boosters

  • Past Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Frederick County Small Business Loan Fund

DON MURPHY

Owner / Partner

Don Murphy is an Owner/Partner and provides project research, design layout, painting and various support services for Murphy Properties projects. He has worked for engineering firms his entire career and has prepared hundreds of proposals for A/E renovation projects throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.  He has also performed research for historic preservation proposals and projects including the U.S. Treasury Building, New Executive Office Building, and USDA Headquarters.

Don has a B.A. from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Frostburg State University.  He has lived in Frederick County for over 36 years and is a volunteer with several local groups including: 

  • Officer/Secretary on the Board of Directors for the historic St. John’s Cemetery in Frederick

  • Member of the Historical Society of Frederick County
